From the Cooloola area you can explore the Great Sandy National Park, catch a ferry to Fraser Island or go camping among the trees right on the beach.

Check out rainbow-coloured sand dunes at Rainbow Beach.  Rainbow Beach is located 70km north of Maroochy and is a popular destination for 4WD and nature enthusiasts. Go hang gliding or hire a 4WD to access one of the most remote places on the coast and explore native flora and fauna.  74 different shades of sand can be seen at Rainbow Beach as well as a sacred Aboriginal site.
