The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens are set within a magnificent 82 hectare site that has a magic and spirit that affects all who visit. It includes a lagoon, rocky gullies, palm filled valleys, bushland and riparian rainforest, and Mountain Creek runs along the western boundary. The area is home to a number of frogs, reptiles and mammals as well as a large selection of birds, butterflies and moths.
Spend your day, searching Maroochy for 100s of rare and threatened species including the Southern Platypus Frog whose tadpoles grow in its stomach and the Wompoo Fruit Dove that scares walkers with its ‘boo’ call.
The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens include a variety of attractions that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, time and time again.
The gardens are open from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm (April to October) and 7.00am to 6.00pm (November to March)
The Gardens provide plenty of parking, picnic facilities, wheelchair access and amenities.
The Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens are located on Palm Creek Road, Tanawha, adjacent to the Tanawha Golf Course. Take the Sippy Downs, Buderim exit off the Bruce Highway. Take the Tanawha Tourist Drive turnoff (25) and simply follow the signs!
