The wreck dive site, just north of Mooloolaba, is exceeding all expectations. The magnificent 133-metre long guided missile destroyer has settled perfectly upright on the sand bed in around 27 metres of water.

A fabulous array of marine life has begun to call the ex-HMAS Brisbane home with prolific growth of embryonic corals over most of the structure.

Schools of whiting, happy moments, yellowtail kingfish and cuttlefish happily
cruise around the upper decks and underneath the stern.

"australia's top diving destinations"

The clarity of the water provides a consistent 15-20 metres of visibility with water temperatures between 24°C and 26°C. Access inside the "Brisbane" is optimum with all internal areas offering three points of natural lighting with wide, open entry and exit swim throughs.

The ex-HMAS Brisbane is the only purpose-designed dive wreck in Australia where you can actually dive inside the engine and boiler rooms!

Even without our "Brisbane", Maroochy makes a great diving destination. With high average air and water temperatures, it makes good sense to experience the wonders of our warm subtropical waters. Frolic with seasonal manta rays, meandering green turtles and schools of colourful fish.

For those who haven’t yet ventured "down below", entice your senses by taking a beginners’ dive course - there are many highly regarded certified dive schools operating in Maroochy.

"queensland's largest oceanarium and aquarium"

Even without donning a wetsuit, you can find out what all the fuss is about by visiting UnderWater World in Mooloolaba. You’ll be surrounded by more than 25,000 weird and wonderful sea creatures at Queensland’s largest Oceanarium and Aquarium.
