Natural wonder abounds.

Maroochy is full of surprises but perhaps none more so than its incredible diversity of flora and fauna.

Just kilometres from the vibrancy of chic cafes and stylish shopping, you’ll discover nature bursting with colour, intricate textures and evocative smells.  Imagine strolling amongst luxuriant rainforest, tall eucalypt trees, waterfalls, deep gorges and boulder-strewn creeks... that sums up Maroochy’s hinterland.

Several walking tracks allow you to explore and then cool down in a pristine creek or swimming hole.

Named after the spectacular Kondalilla Falls (where Skene Creek drops 90 metres into a rainforest valley) Kondalilla is a cool mountain retreat and an important refuge for native plants and animals.

Mapleton Forest Reserve is the hub for mountain bikers on the coast. While blissful singletrack and technical hills will demand your respect, the scenery will simply inspire you. There are also excellent walks and picnic spots scattered throughout the forest.
